Google unleashed Buzz to the world this week.

What’s Buzz? That’s a hard question to answer.

What does it feel like?

It feels like a more streamlined version of Google Wave and Twitter. You have a timeline, followers, and people you follow, like in any Twitter like site. You also have the ability to post all sorts of neat shit into your Buzz, and with no character limit. Conversations are threaded, and you can pull information in from other sites, like Flickr, Twitter, Picasa, and more.

Do I like it?

Yes, I do, but there’s a problem.

I’m already on SO many social sites that I don’t think enough people from each of those will be moving to Buzz. Right now I use Twitter, Plurk, and Facebook as my 3 big social sites. I have a unique set of contacts on each one, with very little overlap. Will they move to using Buzz? Maybe, but I doubt it.

Where does this leave Buzz?

Who knows. It’s really cool, and I’d love to use it, but after the fiasco that was Wave…I’m not sure what the adoption will be.

I’ve decided to tell one story over the course of the month. Originally I thought I’d just post separate story chunks, but then a wonderful idea struck me. Follow Sih in a strange, micro adventure.

If you have no clue what I’m walking about, check my previous Nano WriMo post.

As another fund raising year is about to start soon, I’ve setup a website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed for Aiden’s Awesomeness. The hope is to improve awareness and to really pull in a big number of donations this year.

Aiden’s Awesomeness will be more active this coming season with new fund raising events, contents, and more. Of course we’ll also be at the 2010 Greater Hartford Walk Now for Autism even.

There’s more work to be done on all 3 fronts I’ve setup, but at least they’re up and in a functioning capacity. I’ve got a lot in store for each, so keep your eyes peeled!

While the tweet digests did get a bit of traffic, I’m sure it was mostly from sites that crawl and scrape those kind of things.

The other week I happened to stumble across SocialKloud, a new social network designed to replace the now-dead Pownce. For those who where familiar with Pownce, SocialKloud will look very familiar to you. In fact, it’s pretty much got an identical interface and set of features. This brings back great memories of the Pownce days.

The service is still in beta, though it feels pretty solid. It’s missing a bit of chrome, like the ability to change the theme of your timeline. Right now the default theme is pretty ugly, in my opinion. The only other thing it really needs is users. I almost feel that SocialKloud has come a bit too late after the death of Pownce. A lot of users have already moved on to different services such as Plurk (my current favorite), Twitter, Vox, etc…

I really like SocialKloud, but I can’t see myself REALLY using it unless a lot of my old Pownce friends converted over to it. It has a lot of potential, now it just needs the users.
